Tesco Lotus has a strong reputation for contributing to local communities and playing an active role in society.

Tesco Lotus regularly engages local communities to stay healthy in and around our stores. Our ‘Get Healthy with Tesco Lotus’ programme encourages  people to participate in a range of activities including football, sponsored walks and our national aerobic events.

In 2011, Tesco Lotus opened Asia’s first zero-carbon store in Bang Pra in Chonburi the store uses the latest technologies to minimise energy consumption and any energy required is generated on site from a wind turbine, biogas powered by food waste and a 100KW solar farm. Furthermore, Thailand continues to benefit from introducing new distribution hubs.

As part of our ambition to create opportunities for young people, in Thailand we have launched a new vocational training programme to give students on-the-job training. We want to make a lasting impact and help break the cycle – no job, no experience, no experience, no job.
