At Tesco, we're focused on making it a little easier for our colleagues and customers to eat well and stay healthy.


We want to make it easier for customers to enjoy affordable and fresh food, so we've made lots of little changes to make it easier for our customers to find healthier food.


Exclusive Fresh Food Brands

Our range of good quality fruit, veg, meat, fish and poultry brands were launched in 2016 to make healthier eating more affordable. These products have been successful with over two-thirds of our customers purchasing from the range.


We know it’s important to have clear nutritional labelling on our food. We have a long history of leading the way, with labels on the back of packs since 1985. In 2005 we were the first UK retailer to put nutrition information on the front of packs, based on Guideline Daily Amounts.


Through reformulation, we’ve been making the food and drinks our customers enjoy a little healthier. Since November 2016, all of our Tesco own-brand soft drinks have contained less than 5g of sugar per 100ml.

Our Free From range

We want to make sure there are no barriers to food choices. For the fourth consecutive year, Tesco has been named Free From Retailer of the Year.
