Sporting giant Sir Alex Ferguson will be signing copies of his autobiography at an exclusive event at Tesco’s Stretford Extra store in Manchester later this month.
The book signing, which is expected to draw thousands of fans from across the country, will take place on Thursday October 24.
Tesco book buyer Hazel Powell said “Sir Alex’s autobiography has been one of the most eagerly anticipated literary events of the year and the book will certainly be talked about not only by Manchester United supporters but football fans across the world.
“We are honoured that Sir Alex Ferguson will be doing his only book-signing at the Stretford store. We know fans will be counting down the days to this historic occasion.
“Our advice to anyone wanting a copy of the book signed by Sir Alex is to get to the store early on October 24.”
During Sir Alex’s 26 year reign at Manchester United he became the most successful manager in the history of British football winning 13 league titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four league cups.
Over the last quarter of a century there have been seismic changes at Manchester United and in that time Sir Alex has seen the club move from being a conventional club to becoming a major business enterprise.
Over the last four years Sir Alex has been reflecting and jotting down details of his extraordinary career and in the book he will reflect on that story as it unfolded, from his very early days in the tough shipyard areas of Govan in Glasgow.
Sir Alex will be signing from 11am-12am and then again from 2pm-3pm. The store address is Tesco Stretford Extra, Chester Road, Trafford M32 OZS.
The autobiography will be published by Hodder & Stoughton on 24 October.
