At Tesco, we’re encouraging customers to have a free blood pressure check and free Type 2 diabetes risk assessment while they shop.

Lots of people don’t realise that as well as dispensing medicine, pharmacists can offer free advice and support.

Community health

We want to engage with our communities and play an active part in helping customers to be healthy and prevent future disease. The free tests we’re offering can help people realise there may be actions they need to take to lead a healthier life. For others, it’s confirmation that all is well.

Assess risk factors

The Type 2 diabetes assessment is a checklist of risk factors. If needed, we can offer advice and information about the next health steps to take. The blood pressure check can highlight any risk of stroke or heart disease. It’s important for people to be informed about their health.

The free tests are available at any time and there is no need to book.

As well as prescribing medicines, we give advice, offer flu jabs annually and have a travel health service.

We’re available from early to late in line with our store opening times. With free parking, long opening hours and easy access customers often use Tesco pharmacies for their health needs while doing their shop.

Trained health professionals

We have 375 Tesco pharmacies across the country with over 800 pharmacists in our business. That’s a lot of trained health professionals on hand to give free advice to customers at a convenient time.
