With school holidays just around the corner Mums will be bracing themselves for the expense of eating out and now help is at hand with a free children’s meal offer from Tesco.

Any adult who spends £4 or more will be entitled to one free hot kids’ meal worth £2.30. The offer is available from now (Monday 11th July) and throughout the school holidays.

During the holidays children who may usually be at school often join Mum for the weekly shop so being able to offer them a meal out may help to make their shopping experience more enjoyable. In selected Tesco cafes a range of Annabel Karmel hot meals are available for children including pasta and tomato sauce.

Tesco café buying manager Melvin Green said: “Over the summer many school children accompany parents, childminders and nannies to supermarkets and the prospect of a meal out may make their shopping experience more enjoyable.  Tesco has a whole range of hot food including pasta – which is often popular with the kids - as well as rice dishes.  Adults will welcome the opportunity to have the occasional break from cooking this summer and kids always like to eat out.”

Examples of Tesco café meals which are popular with children  include spaghetti Bolognese served with garlic bread and also  pasta with cheese, peas and broccoli both priced at £2.40.
