Tesco is coming to the rescue of thousands of bleary-eyed commuters this morning as the country wakes up from what was expected to be the busiest night for office Christmas parties across the UK.

With millions of people set to enjoy Christmas parties on Thursday 10 December, Tesco is hosting its very own pop-up ‘Hangover Help’ station in three of its London stores.

The pop-ups, located at Canary Wharf, Bishopsgate and Monument Metro stores will open at 6.30am on Friday morning and will be providing customers with feel-good smoothies and life-saver juices.   Commuters will also be given recipe cards for breakfast dishes that are designed to bring a smile back to customers’ faces.

Rachel Jones, London Convenience Director, said: “We know many of our customers will have entered into the festive spirit last night so we’ll be helping them get through the morning with delicious smoothies that give you a lift and leave you feeling fresh. We’ll also be serving Virgin Bloody Marys which should help our customers feel fresh and rehydrated.”

Smoothies will include The Kickstarter, a delicious smoothie which includes melon, pineapple and fresh ginger, all designed to help weary customers get through the day.

Recipes for the perfect hangover breakfast will include The Comforter, the ultimate breakfast sandwich, and The Peanut Better – peanut butter and banana quesadillas, for a filling energy boost.

Notes to Editor:

The Comforter: 2 thick slices of wholemeal or rye bread filled with crispy bacon, a fried egg, fresh spinach, beef tomato, and avocado slices.

The Peanut Better: Wholemeal flour tortilla spread with peanut butter, a layer of mashed bananas, dark chocolate and marshmallows and sprinkled with cinnamon and a little brown sugar.

The Lifesaver: Juice made up of chilled tomato juice, tobasco, Worcester sauce, celery salt, lemon juice and ice to serve.

The Kickstarter: Smoothie blended with honeydew melon, pineapple chunks, celery stalks, roughly chopped ginger and spinach.
