Valentine’s Heart Health

Looking after your heart
Millions of people in the UK live with high blood pressure, which increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. This Valentine’s day, we’re teaming up with the British Heart Foundation, Gemma Aktinson and Gorka Marquez from Strictly Come Dancing to raise awareness of the problem and help our customers to look after their hearts.
The more we know about heart health, the better we can take care of ourselves and our loved ones.
28%
of adults in the UK have high blood pressure.
5m
adults in the UK could be living with undiagnosed high blood pressure.
50%
of all heart attacks and strokes in the UK are associated with high blood pressure.
Together with the British Heart Foundation we’re helping to change this.
To make it as easy as possible for our customers to take care of themselves and their loved ones, we’re offering free blood pressure checks in all of our 373 in-store pharmacies across the country.
“At a time when the health service is under incredible strain, making blood pressure checks and health information readily available in places like Tesco supermarkets has the potential to help millions of people improve their health and prevent countless heart attacks and strokes.”
When love is in the air, we want to help customers take care of their hearts.
