Our Gender Pay report
As part of our values, we are committed to supporting diversity and inclusion at Tesco. We actively celebrate colleagues’ different abilities, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith and gender. Everyone’s welcome and supported in their development, at all stages in their journey with us.
We were one of the first companies to voluntarily publish our gender pay gap data back in 2017. Our latest reports cover the period from April 2019 to April 2020 for Tesco UK, Booker, Tesco Bank and dunnhumby, and follow the methodology set by the UK Government - measuring the difference between men and women’s average pay within an organisation, regardless of their role or work level.
We have a strong diversity and inclusion strategy to support us in removing our gender pay gap, which includes mandatory training for all colleagues, with additional learning for our managers and senior leaders. As part of the 30% Club and Women in Finance Charter, we will improve gender balance in our most senior roles.
We have made good progress, but recognise that we need to work harder. We are committed to removing our gender pay gap through clear actions to help us improve, and by listening to and supporting our colleagues, so they feel confident in knowing Tesco is a place where they can get on.
