This week, in stores across the country, we will be equipping thousands of young unemployed people with the advice, skills and confidence they need to find jobs.

As part of the IGD’s ‘Feeding Britain’s Future’ skills month, we are hosting workshops on key employability skills in 20 of the most challenging areas of unemployment in England. Our personnel managers will provide the equivalent of 100 days free training to 2,000 young people over these five days. They will teach candidates how to write a CV, search for a job and prepare for an interview, and give them a better understanding of the skills our business and other employers are looking for.

Almost a million young people are currently unemployed in the UK, and we are committed to offering opportunities for them to gain the key skills that will help them to find work and start successful careers.

Last week we welcomed almost 300 new graduates and school leaveres into Tesco.
