Customers show their sporty side for Diabetes UK
Colleagues and customers across the UK have been getting involved in sporting events to raise money for Diabetes UK, our National Charity Partner.
Our recent Summer Games fundraiser offered our stores the chance to show their sporty side, by putting on a range of events, including Wii games, five-a-side football and sports quizzes.
For our customers’ children, there were Fruity Friends activity worksheets to keep them occupied whilst their parents were shopping.
Our colleagues at Newmarket Superstore went the extra mile for charity, putting on tug-of-war, basketball, football events and an egg and spoon race. The Bentrim Road Superstore also put their trainers on, raising £800 over the weekend through hopscotch, swingball and hula hooping.
The event offered a great way for our colleagues to get active, have fun and raise money for Diabetes UK.
We are working together to raise £10 million to create healthier communities, and to help support those affected by, and at risk of, diabetes. It aims to support the three million people who have to live with diabetes every day, help hundreds of thousands of people to take action to reduce their risk of Type 2 diabetes and fund investment into groundbreaking research to find a vaccine for Type 1 diabetes.
