Second CSR Conference in Korea

Together with the UN Global Compact Network Korea, our business in South Korea – Homeplus – participated in the Second Youth CSR Conference as part of its efforts to create opportunities for young people.

The event, which was held at the Kyung Hee University in Seoul on the 3rd and 4th July, brought together 1,000 college students from Korea and five ASEAN countries (Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines) to discuss the challenges of building a sustainable future.

The students heard about CSR policies, trends and best practice from representatives of the different countries, including examples of how Homeplus has used CSR to enhance its brand and public reputation.

The students also got the chance to present on four core areas of the UN Global Compact – human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption – helping them develop presentation skills whilst learning about CSR.
