Last weekend we celebrated London Pride in truly colourful style, with over one hundred of our colleagues joining the parade on our disco truck.

The 40ft Tesco distribution delivery “disco” truck took part in the parade and transported our colleagues along the route, handing out sweets, water and coupons. We also donated goody-bags to the seven hundred volunteers who make the Pride in London Parade happen each year.

Along the parade route, fifteen stores had a Pride make-over, sporting coloured chevrons, bunting and balloons with colleagues also getting into the spirit, wearing themed t-shirts and badges. These stores were also selling the UK’s first specially designed Pride t-shirts, created by F&F, where £1 for every shirt purchased was donated to the LGBT Switchboard charity.

Switchboard is one of the oldest LGBT charities, having supported people with LGBT related issues across the UK and globally, for over forty years.

We held pre-Pride events in Regent Street Metro and Covent Garden Metro on 20th June where customers could watch performances by the London Gay Men’s Chorus and enjoy a glass of Lanson Pink Champagne or some specially branded Tesco Pride M&Ms.
