Supporting the relief effort in Indonesia
16 November 2018
When there is an emergency, we want to be able to support communities and help where we can. This could be by helping victims of flooding in the UK or supporting a bigger global relief effort.
Following the earthquake and subsequent Tsunami in Indonesia, the Red Cross is working tirelessly to provide much needed emergency supplies including clean water, food, blankets and shelter. Through our partnership with the British Red Cross’s Disaster Relief Alliance, we are supporting their efforts and helping to fund their work. The Disaster Relief Alliance prepares vulnerable communities to prepare for emergencies before they happen and help them to become more resilient.
We have donated ATM advertising space to the Disasters Emergencies Committee, with the appeal featuring on over 3,000 Tesco Bank ATM’s, located at Tesco stores across the UK.
Tesco is proud to have been in partnership with the British Red Cross for the last eleven years donating £10 million to support their work.
