Joining together as an industry on Diversity and Inclusion

Everyone’s welcome at Tesco, and we’re really proud to be supporting ‘Diversity and Inclusion in Grocery’ – a new initiative focused on making the grocery industry more inclusive, by focusing on learning and development, smarter working and cross-industry mentoring.

As part of this, Tesco joined forces with Coca Cola European Partners, Mondelēz, P&G and Accenture to hold a Diversity and Inclusion event at Wembley. Supported by the charity GroceryAid, the event brought people together from across the grocery sector to look at building inclusive teams, creating environments where everyone can give their best, and fostering a culture where different views and challenges are positively encouraged.

Tesco’s Chief Customer Officer and Exec Sponsor of its Disability and Inclusion network, Alessandra Bellini, gave the opening speech, and Tesco Ireland CEO Kari Daniels joined a panel discussion to explore why diversity and inclusion is important for the industry.

Alessandra Bellini said:

“Diversity and Inclusion is everyone’s business and we are delighted to be joining together as an industry to drive change.

“Creating a culture where everyone’s welcome is central to any organisation and we want to encourage everyone to be themselves, whoever you are, wherever you work, and whatever you do, so you can reach your full potential.”
