Launching our women’s health guide on World Menopause Day

At Tesco, we are committed to supporting our colleagues by providing a work environment where everyone can get on. As part of our colleague health event and to mark World Menopause Day, we are launching our new guide about women’s health today. This guide is a gateway to starting conversations, helping to reduce the stigma and a resource to learn more.

In June, our UK People Director Emma Taylor led a conversation with a panel of five inspirational women at our Welwyn campus about their menopause experiences. An audio recording of that event, together with two further videos explaining more about the menopause, are now available to our colleagues.

In addition to these resources we are also testing a number of new initiatives, including more breathable fabric in our uniforms, to help women be more comfortable at work.

We have also signed up to the Eve Appeal’s EveryWoman pledge, supporting women in the workplace with health conditions like the menopause.

Natasha Adams, Tesco’s Chief People Officer, says: “We are proud to be a founding signatory to the Eve Appeal’s EveryWoman pledge, and to provide further advice and resources to our colleagues in this vital area of health. By encouraging more conversation about the menopause, we want to remove the stigma of talking about it and increase the support for the large number of our colleagues who experience it in the workplace.”
