Our Learning Dollars programme

At Tesco, we want our colleagues to be themselves and reach their potential – whoever they are, wherever they work, whatever they do. Our commitment to supporting young people will help build a talented workforce with the skills needed for the future.
People learn in different ways and that’s why we take a personalised approach to training and development. In Thailand our Learning Dollars programme gives colleagues access to a range of courses offered by universities, including a micro-MBA.
Colleagues are given a learning budget that they can redeem against the courses that they and their manager feel will best support their development. These could range from a course on marketing, to a module on critical thinking.
This year we have expanded our collaboration to four universities so that we can offer this opportunity to more colleagues across the country. Since we introduced the program in 2016, 2,299 colleagues have participated.
